Creating a 2D Animation Video to Showcase a training video about stock control.
Nando’s, a globally recognised brand, is committed to maintaining high operational standards across all its stores. To support staff training and ensure consistency in processes, they partnered with us to produce a series of 17 2D animation and motion graphics training videos. Each video was designed to make learning simple yet effective for teams across the brand.
One of the videos in this series focused on Stock Control: covering essential best practices, do’s and don’ts, and efficient methods for preventing low stock and managing inventory.
Project Objectives
The primary objective of this project was to create educational, easy-to-understand 2D animation training videos that communicate essential operational procedures in a way that resonates with their team members.
Key objectives included:
- Simplifying Training Content: Turn complex operational procedures into clear, visual, and memorable lessons.
- Promoting Best Practices: Highlight stock control processes, including how to calculate stock levels and prevent shortages.
- Driving Engagement: Use dynamic visuals and storytelling to make learning enjoyable and relatable for employees at all levels.
The Creative Process
Our creative process combined educational clarity with their vibrant and energetic brand style, ensuring the videos reflected both professionalism and personality.
- Client Consultation:
We collaborated closely with their training and operations teams to understand key learning objectives, terminology, and tone. Since we have an ongoing working relationship with them, the creative process was seamless and aligned with their internal training standards. - Research and Storyboarding:
We developed a detailed storyboard that outlined each topic, such as stock calculations, tracking methods, and prevention strategies, in a visually engaging and easy-to-follow sequence. - Script Development:
Scripts were written to be concise and conversational, ensuring key lessons were communicated in a friendly, approachable manner while maintaining accuracy and authority. - Design and Animation:
Each video featured custom 2D animation and motion graphics, blending brand-specific colours, icons, and character designs to maintain consistency across the series. The stock control video used clear visual metaphors, such as illustrated storage rooms and inventory dashboards, to help viewers connect with the content. - Voiceover and Sound Design:
An upbeat, approachable voiceover and rhythmic background music helped sustain engagement and reinforce the brand’s lively tone.

Execution
The execution phase brought together all creative elements, storytelling, animation, and sound, to produce a cohesive, professional training video.
- Animation Production:
We developed a training video that translated complex stock control processes into clear, simple visual storytelling. The production began with vector-based asset creation, ensuring scalable, high-resolution graphics that maintained clarity across all formats. Characters, icons, and environment elements were designed in layered compositions to enable independent animation and easy manipulation during production. Motion graphics techniques, including animated infographics, labels, and data visualizations, were employed to visually explain stock calculations, ordering procedures, and best practices. To reinforce learning outcomes, on-screen text synchronization and voiceover timing were carefully aligned through precise keyframe mapping, ensuring that visuals supported narration cues. - Client Reviews:
Frequent review sessions ensured accuracy in training information and alignment with their internal standards. Feedback loops allowed for fine-tuning of tone, pacing, and emphasis. - Final Edits and Polishing:
The animation was refined to ensure visual clarity, brand consistency, and an optimal learning experience for the end user.

Results
The completed training video successfully met all learning and engagement objectives, becoming part of their comprehensive internal training library.
Key outcomes included:
- Enhanced Learning Retention: The use of animation made complex operational procedures easier to understand and remember.
- Increased Engagement: Staff responded positively to the visual storytelling approach, finding it both educational and enjoyable.
Conclusion
The video demonstrates how effective visual storytelling can transform corporate training. By turning detailed operational content into engaging and relatable animations, we helped them to communicate important information in a format that motivates and educates staff.
This project is part of our long-term collaboration with Nando’s, reflecting our shared commitment to creativity, clarity, and continuous improvement in training and communication.
