Motion Graphics – Health data and statistics platform

Creating a Motion Graphics Video to Showcase a platform where you can get health data and statistics.

We created a motion graphics explainer video for Health Systems Trust (HST) DataBridge360°, their digital platform designed to centralize and visualize public health data in South Africa. The goal was to introduce viewers to the platform, highlight its functionality, and demonstrate how users can navigate and interpret key features such as dashboards, resources, and community insights.

The video combines dynamic visuals, AI-generated narration, and clean user interface animation to bring the DataBridge360° platform to life in a professional yet accessible way.

Project Objectives

The primary goal of this project was to create a visually engaging motion graphics video that explains the purpose, structure, and user experience of the platform.

Key objectives included:

  • Platform Demonstration: Visually guide users through the site’s core sections, showing functionality in action.
  • Simplified Navigation: Present the dashboard, trackers, and resources in a clear, easy-to-follow sequence.
  • Modern Aesthetic: Reflect their data-driven professionalism through sleek transitions, minimal design, and brand consistency.
  • AI Narration: Utilize an AI-generated voice-over to deliver a consistent, polished, and cost-effective narration.
  • Educational Engagement: Position the video as both an orientation tool and a promotional asset for stakeholders and users.

The Creative Process

  • Client Consultation
Our collaboration began with an in-depth discussion about the platform’s purpose, audience, and visual tone. The team emphasized the importance of accessibility, ensuring that public health professionals, policymakers, and researchers could all intuitively understand the platform’s features and impact.

  • Research and Storyboarding
We conducted a visual audit of the DataBridge360° interface, noting the colour palette, layout patterns, and user flow. This informed our storyboard, which mapped the viewer’s journey through key pages, including the Dashboard, Resources, and Community Insights sections.
Each scene was designed to visually represent data movement, information flow, and user interactivity, mirroring the platform’s emphasis on connectivity and collaboration.

  • Script Development
The script was crafted to balance technical accuracy with approachable explanation, highlighting the platform’s value in tracking public health trends across TB, HIV, and STIs.
The narrative was structured around a logical progression: introduction → feature demonstration → data visualization → community insights → conclusion.

  • Design and Animation
This project utilized a motion graphics approach to create a polished, digital feel. Each visual element, from iconography to typography, was custom-designed to reflect clarity and precision.
The animation employed smooth transitions, kinetic text, and animated UI elements to simulate real interaction with the platform. These visuals were layered with data-inspired motion cues (lines, graphs, and expanding nodes) to represent networked information flow.
To maintain visual hierarchy, brand blues and accent colours were used strategically, ensuring focus remained on interactive components like the Target Trackers and Google Trends features.

  • AI Voice-over and Sound Design
Instead of a traditional voice artist, we employed a high-quality AI-generated voice-over, carefully tuned to deliver a neutral yet professional tone. This allowed for greater flexibility during production and faster iterations during review.
The sound design was kept subtle and data-driven, using ambient tones and soft digital effects to reinforce transitions and emphasize key moments. The overall auditory environment supported comprehension without distraction.

Execution

During production, our focus was on fluid motion and intuitive pacing. Each animated sequence was timed precisely to the AI narration, ensuring a seamless flow of information.

Interactive screens, graphs, and user dashboards were animated with depth and perspective, giving the viewer a sense of navigating through the live site. The pacing allowed time to absorb information while keeping the visual momentum consistent throughout the video.

Client Review and Final Edits

Throughout the production cycle, we maintained close communication with HST, sharing iterative drafts and incorporating their feedback on tone, terminology, and brand consistency. Adjustments to transitions, text legibility, and data emphasis were made to ensure the final version aligned with both their communication strategy and the platform’s technical clarity.

Final colour grading, animation smoothing, and audio balancing ensured a cohesive, professional output ready for distribution across HST’s communication platforms.

Results

The completed motion graphics video effectively showcased the functionality and impact of DataBridge360°, serving as both a training tool and a public awareness asset.

Key outcomes included:

  • Enhanced Understanding: Viewers can now quickly grasp the platform’s structure and purpose.
  • Increased Engagement: The clear visual flow and AI narration maintain viewer interest throughout.
  • Brand Consistency: The animation reinforces their visual identity through cohesive design and tone.
  • Efficiency in Production: The use of AI voice-over streamlined revisions and reduced production costs without compromising quality.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates how motion graphics can transform complex digital systems into clear, engaging visual stories. Through strategic design, precise animation, and AI-assisted narration, we successfully communicated the capabilities of DataBridge360° in a way that is both informative and visually compelling.

By integrating dynamic visuals with modern storytelling techniques, the final video reinforces HST’s mission to bridge data and public health insight, embodying the innovation at the core of their work.
