Kumba Iron Ore approached us for a health and safety video production project;

they are a member of the Anglo American PLC group, which is a leading added-value supplier of high-quality iron ore to the global steel industry, with three operations within South Africa.

This employee, visitor and contractor’s health and safety video production (produced in collaboration with Sound Idea Digital) highlights the client’s prioritisation of achieving no harm to people, equipment and the environment by implementing powerful health and safety principles and values. By obeying all safety rules that are put in place, incidents, injuries and death are prevented. This includes mobile equipment incidents, falling from heights, fire and explosion and hazardous exposure to name a few.

Employees follow the SLAM principle (Stop, Look, Assess, Manage) to ensure that all work-related operations are performed correctly and with complete safety. The health of their people is of utmost importance. The correct PPE is always provided and made mandatory to be worn at all times, and wellness- and training programs are available for all employees through the health and safety video production.

The client is special in that they undertake energy-saving and carbon-reduction projects that contribute positively to the negative impacts of climate change. They are also always biodiversity-conscious, ensuring the protection of all living things in the environment.

This video was filmed over two days by a two-man crew. The crew included a drone operator for establishing shots. The video was narrated by a professional voice artist who was recorded in-house in our studio. All motion graphics and additional designs were developed in-house by our team. The health and safety video production project was completed in accordance with the standard guidelines laid out by the occupational health and safety act of 1993. By following and being compliant with the occupational health and safety act of 1993, the client can easily avoid lawsuits and other legal implications brought on by negligent health and safety training.
