SERCO: Marketing Video

This marketing video was filmed in multiple locations across Johannesburg, South Africa. One of the key locations was Newtown, in the heart of Joburg. The area is rich with creativity and holds its history through street art and graffiti. This was an ideal setting to film and photograph SERCO’s trucks, as it’s the perfect marriage between urban and industrial with a modern creative twist. As part of the video shoot, a professional photo shoot was also set up. These photos were used to create all the SERCO truck images for their website. They could also be shared through social media or enhanced for sales collateral.

Premise:

A marketing video simply and effectively informs potential customers about a product or service. This marketing video was created to showcase the brand-new Protec Steel Frost Liner trailer range by SERCO. Additionally, the opportunity was taken to generate high-end video and photos for the SERCO website, product catalogs and sales collateral. Every content production opportunity should be leveraged to make sure you maximise your available resources. 

Personal Experience:

The filming of the marketing video project consisted of four full days of shooting allowing me to gain a clear and deep understanding of the product and the gap it would be filling within the logistics market. It also meant the video had a dynamic flow with all the additional locations and scenes. I enjoyed my time with SERCO a lot and I look forward to working with them again in the future. Their team was particularly helpful at each location, particularly when we were filming on the streets of Newtown where additional security is compulsory. Each shoot was well planned, all key project members were given ample time to practice and prepare their lines. SERCO also provided timely feedback for each draft of the video which ensured we were able to deliver the video in time for upcoming events.

The filming also included a drone shoot for many establishing shots, which was especially important to highlight such large trucks operating with SERCO products. The video also included a professional voice artist which was recorded in-house in our studio. All the motion graphics were also developed in-house and approved in advance to keep the video production flowing.
