Premise:

This marketing video showcases the company’s achievements and new property milestones. This video was created for PERI Cape Town to celebrate the launch of their new property in Somerset West, near Cape Town, South Africa. With a video of this nature, you want to make sure to capture enough footage of all the proceedings so that you have more flexibility during editing. With event marketing videography, your team needs to be experienced at filming in complicated settings where the logistics may not be ideal. 

Personal Experience:

This event was filmed by my trusty number two cameraman Grant Lucas. He met up with Matthew, they had a pre-briefing and then he shot the event. In the case of this video, Grant did a great job capturing all the attendees in a relaxed setting, highlighting how much the team enjoyed the event.

A few weeks prior to writing this, I was privileged enough to visit the site of the new PERI Cape Town offices, an achievement that was also celebrated during the launch. This new property is beautifully designed, and the yard was amazing.

Grant Lucas did a wonderful job with the photos and video at the event, and the event had a much more relaxed atmosphere than the Joburg event. It was beautiful to see this atmosphere captured so aptly. The client also saved the budget by foregoing any video narration in exchange for a vibey soundtrack to carry the audio aspect of the video.

When filming events at odd times of the evening, consider arriving around a golden hour to ensure you have optimal light for capturing outdoor establishing shots.
